the concept

the players need to work together to take orders, serve plates and clear tables, without running out of stock, space or staff moral. There are 3 difficulty levels to try and many Strategies to test out.

inspiration was taken from traditional board games and Repetitive floor tiles, many layouts were trialled in conjunction with the rules to find a functional pattern that was recognisable as tables and chairs.

key objects in each job role are used to represent the character of chef, bartender, waiter and host, and each of their respected areas on the board are illustrated in a cartoon style with layered bristle paths for added depth. These textures are repeated across all of the assets including the cards, menu and the stock count book. other 3d realistic components are wooden kegs, silver plates, Ticket slides and an Industry ticket spike.

The contrasting script and sans-serif typefaces were chosen for this project to demonstrate the stark difference between a customers and a workers experience, any customer facing elements are portrayed by an elegant script and the instructional materials are written in clear bold lettering.

“play together to reach the days sales target and prevent the restaurant from closing.”
